A Hose Bib Repair & Happy Home

|

When Evan Walsh called Knight Plumbing, Inc. about a broken hose bib, he needed more than a quick swap of a leaky outdoor faucet. He needed a solution that would stand up to Wisconsin’s harsh winters and keep his home safer from freeze damage. Andy, one of our trained plumbers, arrived ready to investigate, explain, and upgrade.

Turning a Broken Hose Bib into a Better Winter-Ready Setup

Evan's hose bib had failed and some of the connected piping needed attention. Andy replaced the broken hose bib and upgraded the interior piping. As part of that work, he added a bleeder valve designed for safe winterization.

This process went beyond swapping out a hose faucet. Upgrading the interior piping and installing a dedicated bleeder valve is crucial because it allows the line to drain completely, ensuring the new frost-free hose bib stays frost-free during freezing winters.

That level of detail reflects how Knight Plumbing, Inc. approaches piping and repiping. Our plumbers arrive in fully stocked trucks, trained under the guidance of owner and Master Plumber Dave Knight, who brings over 25 years in the trade. That mentorship shapes the way our team evaluates a problem, chooses materials, and talks with homeowners about what they find.

Clear Communication and Respect for the Home

Evan’s review highlights something we care about as much as the technical work: communication and respect. Andy walked Evan through why each repair mattered and how the upgrades improved the quality of the parts involved. He also took time to answer questions about another possible repair, even though it fell outside the original visit.

Here’s how Evan described his experience:

"Andy did a great job replacing our broken hose bib and doing some replacement piping, which included the addition of a bleeder for safe winterization. The job was completed in good time and without any hiccups. He even took the time to walk me through why all the repairs were needed and how they beneficially improved the quality of those parts being replaced. Additionally, he answered some questions I had about another potential repair needed that did not relate to the scope of work which the first visit required. Thank you, Andy!"

Stories like this align with how we aim to operate every day: arrive when we say we will, work cleanly, price transparently, and leave customers feeling informed rather than rushed.
